House guide
The house manual,
in the open
Everything you need in order to run the house without having to phone anybody. It is here so you can see how the place is looked after before you reserve - confirmed guests get the same thing by email before arrival, with the exact address and key arrangements.
Fibre wifi throughout, comfortably fast enough for video calls and streaming, with two dedicated workspaces. Network name and password are emailed before arrival. If the line drops, switch the router off at the wall, wait thirty seconds and switch it back on - it takes about two minutes to come back.
Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 10:00. Earlier or later is sometimes possible - just ask the day before. Key arrangements and the exact address are sent to confirmed guests before arrival. Let us know your rough arrival time so someone is available.
The kitchen is fully equipped - gas hob, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine and proper knives. The built-in braai on the deck is ready to use; firelighters and grid are in the cupboard beside it. The hot tub runs year-round; please keep the cover on when it is not in use.
Aircon in the main bedroom and living room - remotes are on the wall bracket. Please close the windows while it runs. If load shedding ever returns, backup power keeps the wifi and some lights running.
Cape Town is a water-scarce city: short showers, full loads only. Please arm the alarm whenever the house is empty and overnight, and keep to quiet hours between 22:00 and 07:00 - this is a residential street.
